Pre-adoption application approved!

Our pre-adoption application was approved today!  Now we just have to wait for our LOA (Letter of Approval).  LOA is scheduled to arrive in about two months.  Hopefully, it will arrive much sooner!  According to our China Coordinator, we should be traveling to China sometime in December 2010.

Sent our LOI

Still couldn’t get enough sleep since our baby was on my mind the whole night.
Our China Coordinator requested that we turn in an LOI (Letter Of Intent) to adopt baby Wu Zu Fan as well as other documents and a picture of two of us.

At 11:33am, we sent the LOI as well as other documents to our China Coordinator. Now we will wait to get approved to adopt baby Wu Zu Fan!

Today, I told my husband that I love the name Nathan for our baby. I hope he agrees!

Yes to Wu Zu Fan!

I couldn’t sleep the night before. Baby Wu Zu Fan was on my mind a lot. Our baby already kept me awake at night even though he wasn’t with me yet! :-)

At 07:42pm, I emailed our China Coordinator to let her know that we would love to adopt baby Wu Zu Fan.

Our baby boy, Wu Zu Fan

First time I opened the file, first thing I saw was his beautiful picture.  I literally had tears coming out of my eyes. I said to myself ‘could this be the baby we have been waiting for?’ His name is Wu Zu Fan and was born on October 11, 2009. When I found out about his DOB, I was thinking ‘what were we doing on that day?’ Then I remembered that my husband and I were finishing up our remodeling project in our kitchen!

We had a 9pm phone consultation with a doctor who specializes in evaluating pre-adoption medical files. The result of the evaluation is very good.

Referral!

We received a referral at 10:50pm! By this time, my husband and I were already sleeping since we had to get up early next morning for work. On this night, our China Coordinator emailed us a file about a SN baby boy who is less than 1 yr old who was born with a cleft lip (repaired) and cleft palate. His name is Wu Zu Fan from Hubei Province. In our early adoption process, we did mention that we wanted to adopt an infant female.  However, after almost 3 yrs of waiting and we have neither a boy nor a girl, we welcome any infant that is SN or NSN.

Yes we switched to SN!

After having a month long discussion about SN children, my husband and I decided to switch from NSN to SN. I contacted our China Coordinator again to get more information about SN (Special Needs) children with minor correctable needs such as cleft lip/palate. Last time I discussed about SN children with our China Coordinator was back in November 2009.

Should we switch to SN?

My husband and I had a discussion about SN children again. This coming November 5, 2010,  it will be our 3rd year of waiting.  My husband and I would like to have a baby soon.  After all, we are not getting any younger. We feel that the matching for NSN is ridiculously taking too long. Currently, CCAA has only been able to match expedited Chinese family in the NSN line up to May 2007. I hear that CCAA may not match be able to match my group with LID November 5, 2007 until end of 2011, 2012 or even 2013. So this matching thing is so unpredictable. We really do not know when we will get matched.
